Ryan Adams and the Cardinals @ The Catalyst

Excellent show, even though I missed the entire first set. Great
sound, great musicianship - highly recommended if they come to your
neighborhood!

Big day at the Lane

Big day at the Lane, originally uploaded by s.cooper.

This picture doesn't quite capture it, but it was a few feet overhead
to double overhead at the Lane today. These Middle Peak mackers looked
like mountains moving on the horizon.

Nicole and I went tidepooling in Pacific Grove today. Find of the day:
baby starfish no bigger than a dime.

Landing sight

Here's a new Post Office shot for my collection. The guy in the
picture just finished chewing me out for blocking the street in order
to take this shot out the window of the car. I made him hopping mad by
agreeing with everything he said, without even a hint of sarcasm.
Subtle, I am.

Ferry building

Nick and I are seeing what looks good to eat at the Ferry Building. We
tried Lu Lu Petite and weren't disappointed. Try the house-made chips!
Tourist tip: it's a longer walk than it looks from Union Square. Hop
the F train and hang onto your transfer.

Drum circles, the scourge of city life! Not pictured: a merchant
fending off a panhandler with a hose near Geary and Stockton. Ah,
commerce!

The only thing scarier than seeing this guy in the backyard this
morning was noticing that it was NOT THERE when I walked by again 5
minutes later. Yeesh!

Small world

Small world, originally uploaded by s.cooper.

I was walking down Front St. when I heard someone call my name. It turned out
to be my friend and coworker Austin from Caffe Driade in Chapel Hill, who
recently moved to San Francisco. We had a walk all around town (and
enjoyed a gorgeous sunset) and then went to El Palomar for margaritas

7:30 at Pleasure Point

7:30 at Pleasure Point, originally uploaded by s.cooper.

A pod of dolphins (porpoises?) surfaced in between sets, jumping and
waving flukes in the air. We could only hope this meant "good morning"
and not "shark!" I couldn't seem to make the drop on the head high
sets, but still a great start to the day.
